Co-op Showcasing ‘Community Minded’ Brand with the Pistons

Ste. Anne Co-op is once again teaming up to create a unique partnership with the Steinbach Pistons. Coop is a big financial supporter of the Pistons giving a total of $4,500 in cash and gas coupons.

“We partner with the Steinbach Pistons because they create and add value to our community,” said Co-op General Manger Henry Nickel. “We are encouraged by the Pistons leadership team and the MJHL with the positive image they have on the players beyond their hockey skills, like leadership and integrity, which are traits we stand by.”

Their support this year also includes helping provide educational opportunities for the players. Drew Worrad, was selected as this year’s Coop representative. Worrad will help represent Ste Anne Co-op’s values of being ‘community minded’ by wearing the Co-op logo while he volunteers in and around the community this season.

“This partnership is a way for us to reach out and interact with the community in a different and exciting way,” said Nickel about supporting the Pistons.

Worrad’s work ethic on and his character off the ice made him an easy pick for the Co-op team. The 20 year-old forward from Birr, Ontario will get to experience Co-op’s hospitality first-hand while spending time helping out at different gas stations in the area. He will also be doing a post-game Co-op poster autograph signing and taking Co-op memorabilia with him while visiting schools in the area.

The Pistons are excited to continue their relationship with Coop and look forward to finding new and creative ways to work together in the future. “It is truly a team effort to run a successful Jr ‘A’ Hockey Club,” said Kevin Geisheimer, Pistons Director of Marketing. “It takes a shared vision and collaboration between the players, organization and community partners like Ste. Anne Coop.”
