Pistons lose 4-2 to Steelers

The Steinbach Pistons played their second preseason game of the year Saturday night, falling 4-2 to the Steelers in Steinbach.

A crowd of 431 saw Selkirk take a 1-0 after the 1st period on a goal by Tyrenn Bauer at 9:43.

The Pistons tied it up 1:52 into the 2nd on a powerplay goal by Tyler Lazaruk, assisted by Mike Collins and Colton Robak. Mitch Chagnon scored at 7:31 to make it 2-1 for Steinbach. The Steelers responded with 4:12 remaining in the period when Steve Zacharias tied the game.

The Steelers would score two in the 3rd period to win 4-2. Craig Scott scored at 9:59 and Richard Olson scored at the 12:16 mark.

Addison Herosian stopped 14 of 15 shots in the first half of the game, while Bryan Tait stopped 16 of 19 playing the second half in the Piston net.

Steinbach plays their next preseason game on Wednesday, September 8th in St. Adolphe against the Winnipeg Saints.

 
Pistons win first preseason game 5-2

The Steinbach Pistons played their first preseason game of the year on Friday night in Selkirk against the Steelers. The Piston hopefuls came out on top, winning 5-2. The Pistons and Steelers play again on Saturday in Steinbach at 7:30 pm.

Rutherford moves on to pro hockey

Josh RutherfordThe Pistons announce that graduated player and top scorer Josh Rutherford of Stonewall has been invited to attend the training camp of the Augusta RiverHawks in the Southern Professional Hockey League. The Pistons wish Josh the best of luck in moving on to the pro level.

 
Pistons announce new Marketing Director

Paul DyckThe Steinbach Pistons are pleased to announce that Paul Dyck will be the Marketing Director effective August 1, 2010. Paul, a native of Steinbach, recently moved back to make Steinbach his permanent home and is well known throughout the community and hockey circles.
