The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has released the upcoming schedule for the 2017-18 season. Your Steinbach Pistons will open their season at home on Friday September 22nd against the Selkirk Steelers.
The 2017-18 season will be the same as last year, as all 11 teams will play 60 regular season games, playing every team three times at home and on the road.
Here are a few important dates on the Pistons schedule:
- Wednesday, September 27th: The Pistons visit the defending Turnbull Cup Champions, the Portage Terriers.
- Saturday, October 28th: Join the Steinbach Pistons in supporting cancer research with the Pink in the Rink game against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
- December 12th – 13th: The Pistons will be taking part in the Old Dutch Player Showcase at the Bell MTS IcePlex in Winnipeg. The Piston will be playing the Swan Valley Stampeders and Dauphin Kings.
- Saturday, December 30th: The Pistons come back from their Christmas break for a home-and-home against the Selkirk Steelers.
- Saturday, January 27th: Celebrate local Steinbach hockey on Miller Day when the Pistons host the Selkirk Steelers.
- Monday, February 19th: The Pistons host the Winkler Flyers on Family Day. Puck drop is set for 2:30.
- Friday, March 2nd: The Pistons close out their 2017-18 season on the road against the Winkler Flyers.
