Pistons Cap Off 2017-18 Season with Year-End Awards Banquet

The 2017-18 Steinbach Pistons came together for one final time to celebrate the year that was with their annual year-end awards banquet and dinner.

The organization got the chance to thank everyone, including families and billet families of the players, support staff, sponsors, the hard-working volunteers, and the community for supporting them through this historic season which resulted in their second Turnbull Cup victory in franchise history, the first ever ANAVET Cup in team history, and a first-ever appearance at the RBC Cup.

For the coaches, it was a chance to hand out some hardware for the hard work put in for the best season in Pistons’ history, and to thank and congratulate the graduating 20-year-olds Luke Bellerose, Mark Wilson, Daniel McKitrick Drew Worrad, Mark Taraschuk, Bradley Schoonbaert, and captain Braden Purtill on fantastic junior careers.

Steinbach Credit Union was a legacy partner of the Pistons this season, and sponsored two awards at the banquet; the Community Service/Leadership Award and the Academic Excellence Award. SCU awarded a $500 scholarship to the recipients of those two awards.
