Thiessen ranked 4th amongst North American goalies in final NHL draft rankings

Pistons goaltender Matthew Thiessen continues to trend upwards amongst high-ranking NHL scouts.

The 17-year-old Altona native has moved up to 4th place amongst North American goalies in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings for the 2018 NHL Draft, after previously being ranked 11th on the last list. He is also the top ranked CJHL goaltender in this year’s draft.

Thiessen has been stellar during the Pistons’ 2018 MJHL postseason run, posting an 8-4 record this postseason with a 1.70 GAA and a .940 SV%. He also has four shutouts this postseason, including a 23 save shutout this past Monday during the Pistons’ Game 4 win to even the series against Virden.
