20-Year-Old Thank You – Christian Riemer

The Pistons organization would like to sincerely thank defenceman and assistant captain Christian Riemer for all of his contributions, both on the ice and in and around our community, during the past couple of seasons.

Riemer was signed by Steinbach shortly after the beginning of the 2019-20 season, and proved to be the stable force that the Pistons were looking for on their defence corp. In 32 games played for Steinbach last season, the Regina, SK native had 2 goals and 10 points. It was the playoffs where he really stepped up, notching an MJHL high 6 points in 4 games and was named the team’s playoff MVP.

During this shortened season, Riemer donned the ‘A’ on his jersey and posted 3 assists in 8 games before the shutdown in November.

He was also active in the community, heading off to various schools last February for I Love To Read month.

“Riems was a horse for us and that was never more evident than in the playoffs last season,” Head Coach/GM Paul Dyck complimented. “His strength and speed allow him to be a physical force on the ice and he was someone we could always trust and count on in key moments of a game.

“We felt he was one of the most underrated players in the league, and one of those players you appreciate the longer you have him on your side. He let his play and practice habits speak for him and became a respected leader in our room in that manner.”

Thank you Christian! Best of luck to you and your family as you move on from the Pistons!
