2019-20 Ben & Co. Accounting True Grit Award: Caydin Cleland

Defenceman Caydin Cleland is this season’s recipient of the Ben & Co. Accounting True Grit award.

The True Grit award goes to a player that plays with a winning attitude and does whatever it takes to help the team succeed. Cleland certainly did that this season, playing big minutes on the Pistons’ top pair with Declan Graham while being a big factor on the penalty kill.

Undersized for his position, the 20-year-old from Medicine Hat certainly makes up for it by playing with an edge, whether it’s by blocking shots or throwing monster hits on unsuspecting forwards.

Cleland registered 1 goal and 13 points this season while leading the Pistons with 80 PIMs, and is eligible to return to the Pistons next season.

Congratulations to Caydin Cleland on receiving the 2019-20 Ben & Co. Accounting True Grit Award!
