The Steinbach Credit Union Academic Excellence Award goes to a player that does well in the classroom in addition to their work on the ice to become a better all-around player.
Defenceman Lucas Fry has received this year’s SCU Academic Excellence Award. The 17-year-old defenceman from Winnipeg was diligent in his school work all season long, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and a 95% average throughout all of his courses.
Fry was selected by the Pistons in the 2017 MJHL Bantam Draft and picked up an assist in 20 games played during the 2019-20 season.
