8th Annual Fire & Ice Banquet Featuring Andrew Harris

The Steinbach Pistons are pleased to announce that they will be hosting their 8th annual Fire & Ice Banquet at Friedensfeld Community Centre on Tuesday, February 28th. This year’s guest speaker will be Winnipeg Blue Bombers Running Back and former Eastman Raider Andrew Harris.

Harris is a professional Canadian football player who was named the Most Outstanding Canadian of the 99th Grey Cup. He won a Grey Cup in 2011, rushed for over 1,000 yards twice and has been named a CFL All-Star on three occasions with his most recent nod coming this past year with the Bombers.

The 29 year-old was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is an Oak Park High School alumnus. His early years took place in Steinbach, Manitoba where he started playing the game of football at the age of 9 with the Eastman Raiders.

In 2009, he was awarded the Wally Buono Award for most outstanding junior football player in Canada. This helped him reach a rare path to professional football by going through the junior system.

Harris cites his idol as being former Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Charles Roberts.

In the past, the Pistons have had Stu Grimson, Craig Heisinger, Ted Irvine, Mark Chipman, Doug Brown, Kevin Cheveldayoff, Shane Hnidy and Dennis Beyak speak at the annual fundraising banquet.

Contact Kevin Geisheimer at 204-371-1951 or email [email protected] to purchase your ticket to the event.  Single Ticket is $125 and a Table of 8 is $850.
