9th Annual Fire & Ice Banquet Featuring Paul Maurice

The Steinbach Pistons are pleased to announce that they will be hosting their 9th annual Fire & Ice Banquet at Niverville Hertiage Centre on Monday, February 5th. This year’s guest speaker will be Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Paul Maurice.

The Event begins at 5:30pm with complimentary wine, punch and appetizers served in the centre’s atrium and then everyone will be moved into the banquet hall at 6:15pm for the start of dinner. The event is expected to come to a close at 9:30pm. 

Maurice is currently coaching in his 19th season as a Head Coach in the NHL, coaching for the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Winnipeg Jets.

At age 43, Maurice become the youngest coach in NHL history to coach 1,000 games. On October 2017,  Maurice won his 600th game as an NHL head coach and became the 17th coach to achieve this feat.

On a local note, Paul Maurice served as the assistant coach under Ralph Krueger for Team Europe in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

In the past, the Pistons have had Stu Grimson, Craig Heisinger, Ted Irvine, Mark Chipman, Doug Brown, Kevin Cheveldayoff, Shane Hnidy, Dennis Beyak and Andrew Harris speak at the annual fundraising banquet.
