Bengert named Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week

Steinbach Pistons’ Roman Bengert kicked off his season in style with a pair of wins (one shutout). His efforts earned him the first Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week for the 2016-17 season.

Bengert, 20, hails from Cole Harbour, N.S., which is the same home town as hockey legend Sidney Crosby. The 6-foot-3 goaltender could only hope for similar success as Crosby. However, Bengert’s early stats are impressive: GAA of 1.00, with a .949 save percentage.

The runners up are 20 year old forward Scott Gall of the Winkler Flyers and 18  year old forward Connor Barley of the Selkirk Steelers.
