Bernard named Volunteer of the Month

The Steinbach Pistons along with Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries recognized Mascot Coordinator Pierre Bernard as the Volunteer of the Month this past week.

Bernard has been volunteering with the team for the past three years handling the Pistons biggest fan, Clutch.

When asked to choose a favourite moment, Bernard initially said he couldn’t choose one because each of them competed against the other. “I remember the Pistons and Neepawa playoff series last year,” he said. “I got to meet a little girl that was fighting cancer. She drew Clutch a picture of him, it was awesome to see.”

Bernard volunteers with the Pistons because he says they are a first-class organization. “I volunteer because I want to help out in the community and become a better person,” Bernard explained. “The Pistons treat you like family as well.”

There are tons of different opportunities to join and volunteer with the Steinbach Pistons! Aspects like ticket gate attendants, security guards, goal judges, score keepers, PA announcers, and more are always available! If you want to take your support of the Pistons to the next level email [email protected] for more details.
