Cooper Rice Named RBC Community Ambassador for the Pistons

The Steinbach Pistons would like to congratulate Cooper Rice for being named this year’s RBC Community Ambassador.

Each year every team in the MJHL picks a player to be the team’s RBC Community Ambassador who then through RBC donates $1000 to the community of their team. The RBC Community Ambassador is someone who is active in the community, gives of their time to volunteer in various ways and exemplifies outstanding character. Cooper Rice exemplifies these characteristics and more on and off the ice. Whether it be going to local schools to read, help with Christmas hampers or lend a hand where need be, Cooper is always stepping forward to lend a helping hand.

When asked what it meant to be recognized in this way Rice stated, “it’s an awesome feeling getting selected as the RBC ambassador for the Pistons. I put a lot of effort into getting out and helping around the community. Getting noticed for it was a really cool thing for me.”

Being involved in the community and able to give back is an important thing for Cooper, “it means an opportunity to meet the people of Steinbach that support our team every year. It allowed me being a kid from Vermont a chance to really see what makes this town so special.”

When asked about Cooper Rice and the type of guy he is on and off the ice Head Coach and GM Paul Dyck stated, “Cooper embraced ‘community’ from the moment he arrived. He is quick to volunteer his time and has the ability to connect with people through strong communication skills.”

Congratulations Cooper and we thank you for giving of your time and giving back to the city of Steinbach!
