Former Pistons forwards sign in ECHL

Two former Steinbach Pistons are turning pro in the East Coast Hockey League.

Forward Colton Veloso has signed with the Jacksonville Icemen, an affiliate of the Manitoba Moose in the AHL and the Winnipeg Jets, and forward Quintin Lisoway has signed with the Rapid City Rush, an affiliate of the Iowa Wild in the AHL and the Minnesota Wild.

Veloso played one season with the Pistons back in 2014-15, and has spent the majority of his junior career in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks and the Kootenay Ice. He notched 12 goals and 3 assists in 40 games with Steinbach, and scored two goals and six assists in 13 playoff games that same season.

Veloso posted a career year in his final year of junior hockey with the Ice this past season, scoring 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points in 71 games played in 2017-18.

Lisoway spent two seasons with the Pistons in 2012-13 and 2015-16, and also spent most of his junior years in major junior hockey. He has spent time with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, and the Acadie-Bathhurst Titan of the QMJHL. He played two seasons with the University of Manitoba Bisons of U Sports, registering 11 goals and 3 assists in 28 games played in 2017-18.

Lisoway played 54 games with the Pistons, scoring a point per game over that stretch with 54 points. He scored 18 goals and 15 assists for 33 points in 2015-16, and notched 15 points (8 goals and 7 assists) in 16 playoff games for Steinbach.

The Pistons congratulate both Colton and Quintin on heading to the ECHL to start their professional careers!
