The Steinbach Pistons would like to congratulate Hunter Degelman for being named this year’s RBC Community Ambassador.
Each year every team in the MJHL picks a player to be the team’s RBC Community Ambassador who then through RBC makes a donation to a school in their local community. The RBC Community Ambassador is someone who is active in the community, gives of their time to volunteer in various ways and exemplifies outstanding character. Hunter Degelman exemplifies these characteristics and more on and off the ice. Whether it be helping coach minor hockey or spending time at the local senior centre, Hunter is always stepping forward to lend a helping hand.
When asked what it meant to be recognized in this way Hunter stated, “it means a lot. The community is so supportive to us so giving back to them is the easy part.” Talking about what motivates him to get involved and give back to the community Hunter commented, “I love being in the community mingling with different people. What motivates me is being able to give back, but I don’t need much motivation because I really enjoy doing it!”
