Milliken Hat Trick Leads Pistons to 6-1 Victory

The Steinbach Pistons had dominant 6-1 win over the Winnipeg Freeze Saturday evening.

Dawson Milliken opened the scoring at the 6:49 mark on rap around with the assists coming from Ty Paisley and Davis Fry. Ty Paisley made the lead 2-0 at 14:24 off a beautiful move with the assists coming from Davis Fry and Dawson Milliken.

The Pistons closed out the first period up 2-0 and the shot totals 19-7 in favour of the Pistons.

The first half of the second period was back and forth with both teams getting good scoring chances.

Jack Rogers finally capitalized with a beautiful shot getting it past Freeze goaltender Keegan Gordon. Ty Paisley got his third point of the game with the assist on Rogers’ goal.

Dawson Milliken scored his second goal of the game on the power play with under a minute to go in the second period. Cooper Rice continued his offensive streak with an assist on the goal and Neo Kiemeny getting the second assist.

The Pistons were up 4-0 after 2 periods of play and outshooting the Freeze 37-14.

Dawson Milliken completed the hat trick and his 4-point night early in the third period as he scored a nice goal unassisted to put the Pistons up 5-0.

Ty Paisley got his second goal of the game and completed his 4-point night at the 11:37 mark of the third period with the assist coming from Davis Fry.

Simon Harkness’ shutout bid was spoiled with less then 2 minutes left in the game as Tristan Bear scored for the Freeze to make the game 6-1.
