The Steinbach Pistons, along with Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries, have selected forward Ty Naaykens as the team’s Player of the Month for October.
The 19-year-old from Winnipeg is in his third MJHL season, and his second year with the Pistons. Naaykens has put together a solid start to the season for Steinbach, leading the team with 3 goals and 9 assists for a team-leading 12 points in the month.
He currently is tied for 4th in the MJHL scoring race to start 2020-21, and is just two points back of the league high. Naaykens was second on the Pistons in scoring a season ago with 23 goals and 55 points in 58 games played, and won the MJHL Playing Ability and Sportsmanship award with only 14 penalty minutes all season long.
Naaykens will be presented the award during the next Steinbach home game before puck drop. The Pistons and Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries would like to congratulate Ty on receiving the Pistons Player of the Month award for October!
