It was a day full of laughs and low scores yesterday morning and afternoon at the 9th Annual Pistons Celebrity Golf Tournament presented by Unger Foaming Solutions and UDT Interiors Inc. at Quarry Oaks Golf Course.
A total of 190 golfers and 31 celebrities made their way to southeastern Manitoba to support the Pistons organization. Some events taking place during the day was the Celebrity Auction, Dynamic Chiropractic Putting Contest, Hole in One Competitions throughout the course, and an awards dinner capped off the event.
Some celebrities that attended this year’s tournament included former Piston and current Rochester Americans defenceman Justin Baudry, Paul Edmunds, Jets Play-by-Play Announcer on TSN 1290; Ken Wiebe, Winnipeg Sun reporter and host of Wiebe’s World on TSN, NHL alumni and 50-goal scorer Wayne Babych, local golf champions Bailey Funk, Stefan Lavallee, and Jamie Roy, and many current Pistons players and Pistons alumni.
The Pistons would like to thank Dave Unger, Unger Foaming Solutions, and UDT Interiors Inc. for once again being the title sponsor of the Celebrity Golf Tournament; to Earl’s Meat Market, Superstore, and Sobeys for supplying the lunch, buns, water, pop and chips that were served to all of the golfers on the course; to HyLife for supplying the pork and ribs for the dinner, and to everyone at Quarry Oaks for helping us organize the tournament and assisting us throughout the day.
The organization thanks all of the volunteers for their much-appreciated help, and a huge thanks to our hole sponsors for coming out to support the Pistons. And of course, thank you to all of the golfers that participated in a fun-filled day!
Congratulations to Team BellMTS along with celebrity Bailey Funk for winning the 2019 Piston Cup on a countback, with a winning score of 19 under par.
