Pistons Acquire D Patrick From Terriers

The Steinbach Pistons have acquired defenceman Zac Patrick (’01) and Future Considerations from the Portage Terriers in exchange for forward Max Neill (’01).

Patrick got into seven games with the Terriers in 2019-20, registering one assist. He is a veteran of 96 games in the WHL with the then Kootenay (now Winnipeg) ICE, putting up 6 assists in 42 games in 2017-18. He followed that up by scoring 2 goals and adding 5 assists for 7 points in 53 games with the ICE in 2018-19.

“We are excited to add Zac to our back end,“ Head Coach/GM Paul Dyck said of his new d-man. “He brings added experience to our defence and is a player who competes night in and night out.”

Neill was drafted by the Pistons in the first round of the 2016 MJHL Bantam Draft and has spent his first two years of his junior career in Steinbach, putting up 9 goals and 14 points in 2018-19 and then 15 goals and 28 points a season ago.

The Pistons would like to welcome Zac and his family to the organization! The team would like to wish Max and his family all the best as he continues with his hockey career.
