Pistons Acquire F Kobelka from Steelers

Less than a few hours removed from playing each other, the Steinbach Pistons and Selkirk Steelers have struck a deal that sends forward Jackson Kobelka (’00) to the Pistons in exchange for Future Considerations.

The 19-year-old hails from Okotoks, Alberta, and split his time a year ago with the SJHL’s Humboldt Broncos and the Selkirk Steelers. He notched three goals and an assist in 17 games to start last season with Humboldt, then concluded his year with Selkirk by scoring three goals and three assists in 29 games played.

“Jackson adds experience and depth to our forward group,“ Head Coach/GM Paul Dyck said. “He plays with an edge and is hard to play against.”

Kobelka will join the team in time for tomorrow’s game against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines, but it is unclear if he will be in the lineup.

The organization would like to welcome Jackson and his family to the Pistons community!
