The Steinbach Pistons are thrilled to announce an exciting addition to our staff as the long-anticipated move back to Steinbach in the new Southeast Event Centre approaches.
Kevin Geisheimer will be making his return to the Pistons as Director of Business Operations. Kevin served as the team’s Sales and Marketing Director from 2014-2018 and was instrumental in bringing the big screen into Steinbach’s old Centennial Arena. Prior to his tenure on the Pistons staff, Kevin covered the team from its arrival in 2009 until 2014 as play-by-play broadcaster for Golden West Radio. In 2018, Kevin transitioned to Director of Marketing & Communications for HyLife, Canada’s largest premium pork producer. A position he held until October 2024.
During that time, Kevin wanted to find ways to continue being involved with the Pistons so he became a Tier B community owner of the team in 2022 and served on the board of directors from 2022-2024.
“I’m convinced that our region ranks among the best places to live worldwide,” says Geisheimer. “It’s an incredible honour to rejoin the Steinbach Pistons as they start a new chapter at the Southeast Events Centre.”
Kevin will be responsible for leading the day-to-day planning of the team’s short and long-term sales goals, strategic marketing plans, and being the lead on all team communications. A role that supports both Head Coach & General Manager Paul Dyck and Sales & Marketing Director Jamie Roy to keep propelling the Pistons forward.
As the Steinbach Pistons enter a new era with the Southeast Event Centre, Kevin brings his experience and community-driven approach to his role as the Director of Business Operations. His vision is to elevate the team to new heights within the region and beyond.
“This moment has been decades in the making, and collaborating with the SEC team to harness the facility’s potential is truly exciting,” Geisheimer adds. “There’s no limit to what we can achieve, and I’m eager to elevate the Pistons’ presence locally and beyond. Bringing our community together through hockey, one of Canada’s most cherished sports, fills me with immense pride and passion.”
Head Coach & General Manager Paul Dyck says he, along with the board of directors, feel Kevin’s experience and skill set is an important addition as the team enters a new era of Pistons hockey.
“He has a deep passion for community and brings a positive energy and enthusiasm to work with him each day,” Dyck comments. “His addition allows us to grow, provide a new level of entertainment on game days and increase our presence in the community.”
Kevin’s first official day back in the Pistons office will be Wednesday November 6th, and as Sales & Marketing Director Jamie Roy explains, he looks forward to having one of his mentors by his side day to day to make game day in the SEC an unforgettable experience for our community.
“We needed to add some horsepower to our staff and Kevin is exactly what we need right now to get this done. He is someone I constantly look to for advice so I’m very excited to have him back,” says Roy.
Welcome back Kevin and the Geisheimer family to the Pistons organization!
