Pistons Close Out 2018 Preseason with Win Over Selkirk

The games will start counting again for Steinbach after Saturday, as they closed out the preseason with a 4-1 win over the Selkirk Steelers.

Matt Radomsky turned in another solid performance against Selkirk, as he played the full sixty minutes and made 30 saves in the win.

Brady Tatro struck 58 seconds into the game for Steinbach, scoring his first goal of the preseason from Will Koop and Curtis Ireland to make it 1-0.

In the second, Boedey Vaeth’s centering pass from behind the net deflected off of a Steelers defender, and went over the shoulder of Austin Deboer and in. Jack Kilroy and Joey Petronack picked up the helpers on Vaeth’s first of the preseason.

The Steelers would respond on the power play, as Ryan Sokoloski cut the Steinbach lead in half with 5 minutes to go in the second frame. Nico Labossiere and Colby Dudek nabbed the helpers on the Sokoloski tally.

Will Koop took over for Steinbach in the third period. A beautiful cross ice pass by Tanner Mole found Koop’s tape, and he tapped it in over the pad of the goalie making it 3-1 for the Pistons at the 7:34 mark.

Then Koop potted home a loose puck in front with under 4 minutes to go to give the Pistons a 4-1 lead, with Mole and Brendan Martin picking up the assists. The goal gave Koop 3 points on the night to cap his preseason effort.
