Pistons Officially Move Operations To La Broquerie For 2023-24

Monday was an exciting day as the Pistons officially moved their operations over to our home away from home for the 2023-24 season at the HyLife Centre in La Broquerie!!

Thank you to La Broquerie council & staff and other stakeholders in the community for welcoming us with open arms for this season as we await the completion of the Southeast Events Centre in Steinbach.

This has been a busy off season getting the room ready and we could not have done it without some key people.

A huge huge thank you goes out to Head Coach Paul Dyck and his brother/billet superdad/volunteer extraordinaire Russ Dyck who both put in countless hours of work leading this renovation project and taking 4 old dressing rooms and creating one large dressing room, medical/equipment storage room, and an office. Everything from sanding, painting, installing shelves, you name it, they did it all!

Big shoutout to Colin Loewen and his boys Isaiah & Jaxon for their expertise in disassembling and reassembling our dressing room stalls!

Thank you to Jensen and Colton Dueck for your assistance in installing the blue rubber flooring. Thank you to Candice Dyck and Barb Thiessen for the hours you put in cleaning the space post renovation to get it ready for operation.

Thank you to the City of Steinbach for donating the glass from the Centennial Arena. Thank you to Dave, Jim, Leo, and your team for kicking off the renovation project, installing the glass, upgrading internet, and dealing with our numerous requests as we settle in!

Thank you to Jeff Eidse, Jamie Roy, Nate Reimer, Lucas Reimer, Louis Cote, the Pistons players, and Carillon Sultans players for all the muscle work behind moving everything out of Steinbach and into La Broquerie. Also thank you to Shannon Dyck for helping dig out all our merch from storage and doing inventory before the season.

It took an army of people to get this done and we couldn’t thank you all enough! The space looks fantastic!

We are excited for this opportunity to make new fans in La Broquerie and see our longtime fans fill the building this season as we get ready to kick things off at our home opener next Thursday!

See you there!
