Pistons Thank Graduating Forward Davin Griffin

The Steinbach Pistons would like to thank and congratulate Davin Griffin on an amazing junior hockey career!

The Regina Saskatchewan native started his junior hockey career in the WHL with the Prince George Cougars. Davin spent parts of two seasons from 2019-2021 with the Cougars playing in 45 games where he got two points (0 goals and 2 assists) over that span. Davin then made the move to the MJHL, joining the Steinbach Pistons for the 2021-2022 season. In his first season in Steinbach Davin played in 34 regular season games and got 27 points (8 goals and 19 assists). In the 2022-2023 season with the Pistons Davin played in 46 regular season games getting 14 points (7 goals and 7 assists). In the Pistons championship run, Davin notched 3 goals over 18 games and was great defensive forward for the Pistons. Davin’s off the pluck play and 200-foot game was a big part of the Pistons success this season. Davin was a key penalty killer for the Pistons during his time here, using his speed and on ice awareness to shutdown opposing teams’ offence. Davin was a very versatile player. With him having strong defensive awareness he played some defence throughout the season as the Pistons dealt with injuries. Wherever the coach would put him in the lineup Davin would show up and play hard.

“Looking back on my time in Steinbach I have nothing but good memories. Right from when I arrived, to the end of my last season” Davin commented. “From the many friendships made to the welcoming community, Steinbach will forever hold a special place in my memory.”

Davin was a quieter personality in the Pistons dressing room but still was a leader and a presence on and off the ice. His cool and calm on ice leadership was present every game as he approached each game and shift with intensity and always worked hard. Davin dealt with some injuries throughout his time in Steinbach but battled through and continued to be a big part of the Pistons success.

Davin will be missed in Steinbach, but the Pistons organization wish him all the best in the future!
