Pistons Thank Graduating Forward Ian Amsbaugh

The Steinbach Pistons would like to thank and congratulate Ian Amsbaugh on an amazing junior hockey career!

Ian joined the Pistons after he made the team out of training camp. Before joining the Pistons, Ian played the 2021/2022 season for Dakota College at Bottineau in ACHA Div 2. In 31 games with Dakota College at Bottineau, Ian had 20 goals and 37 assists for a total of 57 points. Upon his arrival in Steinbach, Ian was an offensive contributor right off the bat. Ian finished the 2022/2023 regular season with 21 goals and 37 assists for 58 points in 58 games. Ian was also a major contributor in the playoffs and specifically the Centennial Cup where he notched 5 points (2 goals and 3 assists) in 4 games.

“I look back on Steinbach by loving it, it was such a great experience” Ian commented on his time in Steinbach. “I loved the team and everything about them and my billets made me feel like I was at home all year. I will never forget our team and what we accomplished this year.”

Ian was a great presence to have in the dressing room and around the TG Smith Centre day in and day out. It was a pretty safe bet that if you ran into Ian, he would have a smile on his face from ear to ear. He brought his happy and chatty presence wherever he went and was a natural leader in the Pistons dressing room from day one. Ian was a major offensive contributor for the Pistons every game and was one of the only players to play in every single regular season and playoff game this year. Ian’s consistency was something to marvel and was overall a great addition to Steinbach this season.

Ian will be missed in Steinbach but the Pistons organization wish him all the best in his future hockey endeavours!
