Pistons Thank Graduating Player Zach Power

The Steinbach Pistons would like to thank and congratulate Zach Power on an amazing junior hockey career.

Zach started his junior hockey in the GOJHL playing two seasons for the Chatham Maroons. Over the two seasons Zach had 74 points (30 goals and 44 assists) in 98 games. Zach would then make the move to the London Nationals in the GOJHL for the start of the 2021/22 season. In 22 games with the Nationals Zach had 54 points (17 goals and 37 assists). Zach was then dealt to the Steinbach Pistons at the trade deadline where he went on to play 23 regular season games, amassing 36 points (13 goals and 23 assists) over that span. Zach was a big part of the Pistons deep playoff run where he led the MJHL in playoff scoring with 27 points (8 goals and 19 assists) in 18 games.

“Zach came in and acclimated very quickly to our system and style of play” Head Coach and GM Paul Dyck stated. He is so skilled and intelligent, and it didn’t take him long to become one of the most dominant players in the league. His playoff production was at a level rarely seen in our league and it was fun to watch him play. It was so good to see him get rewarded for his play with the commitment to Fairbanks-Alaska as he was very deserving of it.”

Zach came in right at the trade deadline and made an impact immediately. Zach meshed well with the guys and started producing on the ice right from his first game. A guy with a lot of heart, Zach put his all into every shift and was a force to be reckoned with on offense with his high hockey IQ and lethal shot. Zach was also a great fit for the Pistons off the ice as his presence was felt in the locker room as a great leader and teammate. The Pistons wish you all the best in the future and will miss you around the rink!
