Pistons Wrap Up Season With Year End Awards Night

The Pistons held their annual year-end awards last Thursday as the 2024-25 season comes to a close.

The event was held at the Pat Porter Active Living Centre where nearly 200 members of the community gathered to say farewell to the graduating class of 20-year-olds, recognize this year’s group of award winners, and celebrate the accomplishments of this season.

A big thank you goes out to the team at Pat Porter for hosting the event and decorating the hall for us. We also want to give a shoutout to our friends at Santa Lucia for catering the delicious meal.

The awards night is also a time for us an organization to say thank you to everyone who makes the Pistons engine run. A time to recognize our many volunteers who make game day possible. A time to thank our sponsors, ticket holders, and fans in our community who help make Steinbach the best places to play junior hockey.

2024-25 was a rollercoaster of a season filled with anticipation as everyone waiting patiently for the day the doors would finally open at the new Southeast Event Centre. For the 5 games we did get to play in Steinbach, it felt like a dream. The opportunity to be able to gather the community like never before, welcoming in over 11,000 in those 5 games alone, was incredible.

We look forward to welcoming you back through our doors in September so we can create more memorable experiences together as a community.

Farewell to our graduating group of 20-year-olds. These goodbyes are always the toughest but it is because of the impact made both on the ice but also in the community. Thank you for your contributions and we wish all the best whether you continue on with your hockey career, head into the work force, or further your education. You will always be a Piston.
