Road Report: Powered by Compass Coach Lines – March 7th @ Steelers

The Steinbach Pistons head to Selkirk tonight to face off against the Steelers with puck drop set for 7:30pm.

The Pistons continue to sit in second place in the MGEU East Division and the MJHL as they are 6 points behind the Portage Terriers. With the Pistons most recent nail biter, come from behind win over the Neepawa Titans they now have won 6 in a row and have a 39-13-0-0 record and 78 points. With both Portage and Steinbach winning out at the moment it looks like the Pistons will be playing the Winkler Flyers in the first round of playoffs. This season versus the Selkirk Steelers, Steinbach is 4-1 and has outscored them 20-13 over those games.

The Selkirk Steelers are currently in 5th place in the MGEU East Division with a 20-27-4-2 record and 46 points. The Steelers are trying to catch Niverville for the final playoff berth in the East Division with them six points behind with no games in hand. Selkirk has turned it around this season as they started the season off with 11-straight losses, feeling like they were out of the playoff picture after October. Lucas Brennan and Tyson Smith have been a massive part of the Steelers offence as they are 1st and 4th in league scoring.
