Bradley Schoonbaert named MJHL Player of the Week

Steinbach Pistons’ veteran forward Bradley Schoonbaert has been named the MJHL’s Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week.

The Brandon native registered nine points in the past two games for the Pistons in victories over the Dauphin Kings and the Waywayseecappo Wolverines this past weekend.

“It’s always a big honor to get rewarded for your hard work, so it’s always nice,” Schoonbaert said.

The third-year Piston has had a blistering start to the season, scoring nine goals and nine assists to sit atop of the MJHL scoring race with eighteen points in the first seven games.

“I’m just having a good start to the season,” he said. “ Our line has been playing really well so hopefully we can keep it going.”

“I thought he was very deserving of it,” said Head Coach and General Manager Paul Dyck. “He’s playing with a lot of confidence right now, and his line-mates have a lot of chemistry. He had a huge weekend, and he’s helped us win two games this weekend.”

The Pistons will look to keep their winning ways going as they visit the Neepawa Natives on Wednesday, followed by a visit from the Winnipeg Blues to the TG Smith Centre on Friday.
