The Pistons will once again send a representative to the CJHL Prospects game.
Forward Kyle Bettens was named to the Team West roster for the upcoming game happening January 22ndin Okotoks, Alberta.
An annual event, the CJHL Prospects Game is held in coordination with Hockey Canada and NHL Central Scouting with the top 40 Junior A players are invited to participate.
Bettens is the fifth player in Pistons history to be named to the event, following Denis Bosc (2012), Justin Baudry (2013), Riese Gaber (2018), and Matthew Thiessen (2018).
Playing in his first full season in junior hockey, Bettens is having a solid rookie year with two goals and eight assists in fifteen games played. The 17-year-old Bemidji State University commit was listed in the NHL Central Scouting’s preliminary Player to Watch list as a prelude to the upcoming 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Another player from the MJHL will be joining him, as Portage Terriers forward Reilly Funk will also be heading to Okotoks as part of the Team West roster.
