Healthy Corn Crop Harvest For The Pistons in 2022

The 2022 harvest season has come to a close and the Pistons are reporting a strong corn harvest for this year’s crop program.

Arthur Rempel and his team at Kohmar Farms planted, cared for, and harvested a 100 acre parcel of corn just west of Blumenort for this year’s program. The late seeding period, due to all the rain in spring, made for some challenges but with sufficient heat in summer, an abundance of moisture and a late frost in fall, the crop turned out quite nice yielding on average 130 bushels per acre.

This is of course the Pistons largest fundraiser of the year and an extremely vital one for our organization. We cannot thank Kohmar Farms enough for this generous contribution to our organization. We’d also like to thank this year’s crop program sponsors Clearview Co-op, LMS Ag Equipment, Marc Hutlet Seeds, and Mazergroup for their support in helping cover off some of the expenses.
