Pistons Thank Graduating Player Jackson Betcher

The Steinbach Pistons would like to thank and congratulate graduating defenceman Jackson Betcher on a great junior hockey career!

A native of Swan River, Manitoba Jackson played the majority of his junior hockey for the Swan Valley Stampeders. Jackson’s first full season with the Stampeders was the 2018/2019 season where he had 5 assists in 40 games. Jackson was also part of the Stampeders deep playoff push that year as they fell short in the MJHL finals to the Portage Terriers. Jackson would go on to play two and a half more seasons for the Stampeders where he would have 47 points (17 goals and 30 assists) in 92 games. Jackson was then be traded to the Steinbach Pistons at the trade deadline of this past season, getting 12 points (1 goal and 11 assists) in 22 games. Jackson would be a part of another deep playoff push but with the Pistons this time, falling short to the Dauphin Kings in the MJHL finals.

“My time in Steinbach was so memorable. The hockey, the fans, my teammates, the staff and my billet made the whole experience one that I will never forget” Betcher stated, looking back on his time in Steinbach. “I am very thankful to be a Piston and forever to be an alumni, I can’t thank Paul enough for bringing me in at the deadline and letting me be a part of a great run. Even though I was only there for a short time, Steinbach will always feel like a second home.”

Jackson was a big acquisition at the deadline this past season that really helped bolster the Pistons back end. Jackson has great hockey IQ and awareness and was a big part of the success the Pistons had in the second half of the season. Jackson was also a great leader on the team as he came in with lots of junior hockey under his belt and was able to help guide the other guys. Jackson will definitely be missed around the rink and the Pistons wish you all the best in your future hockey endeavours!
