Compass Coach Lines Road Report – Feb 22 @ Waywayseecappo Wolverines

In today’s Compass Coach Lines Road Report, the Pistons head out to Waywayseecappo for a rare Thursday night matchup versus the Wolverines.

The Pistons are coming off of a big 7-2 win versus their rival, the second place Winkler Flyers on Holiday Monday.  The Pistons coaching staff will be looking for a similar type of effort versus the Wolverines tonight as the Pistons would like to start setting the tone for playoffs that start in exactly one month.

Finally some positive news in the injury report. It is rumored that 20-year-old defenseman Parker Jasper will be returning to the lineup on Thursday. A big addition back on the Pistons blue line as well as the Pistons 1st powerplay unit. Noah Szabo and Jack Cook remain out.

The Wolverines now sit in the drivers seat in terms of securing the 4th playoff spot in the west division. They now sit 3 points ahead of the chasing Neepawa Titans with the same amount of games played. This will be an important game for the home Wolverines as every point counts now as the race to get into the playoffs rounds turn 4.

Something for the Pistons to keep an eye out for is the Wolverine’s powerplay which is currently ranked 3rd in the MJHL behind only the Flyers & Oil Capitals. One of the keys for Steinbach to come away with 2 points will be to stay out of the box.
