Culleton visits Tiny Treasures Day Care

Pistons defenceman Tristan Culleton recently took some time to visit the Tiny Treasures Home Day Care centre in Steinbach.

Culleton came bearing his own equipment that he uses during Pistons games, as he demonstrated to the kids how he puts all his gear on.

“Our theme for that week was ‘community helpers’, and we try to have various people come in to talk to the children about what they do,” said Tiny Treasures owner Brenda Dyck. “One of our staff knows Tristan, and arranged for him to come.”

At one point, he turned it into a game in where he allowed the children to decide what equipment he should put on next. “The children loved seeing him get dressed, and he was very interactive with them while putting it all on and asking them what he would put on next,” Dyck explained. “(The kids) loved this part!”

After putting all of the gear, Culleton let the children try on his helmet and gloves, and signed some mini-sticks for everyone. “It was so nice having (Tristan) here,” Dyck exclaimed. “Seeing the children get excited about a hockey player in daycare was a pleasure.”
