After a fun and successful couple of days at the MJHL/SJHL Showcase, Steinbach Pistons head coach Paul Dyck says he and the team are ready to get back to the business of winning regular season games.
“It’s such an emotionally high event for the players,” the coach of MJHL Team Black said on Friday morning. “It’s a lot of fun for them but coming back, focusing on the push for the playoffs, I don’t think it will be too difficult for the guys to get locked in.”
The Pistons start the weekend with a game against the Portage Terriers Friday night, in Portage. A few Terriers happened to be on the team that Dyck was coaching at the Showcase and were teammates for the two games with the likes of Steinbach’s Connor Paronuzzi, Grady Hoffman, Brett Kaiser, Christian Green and Sam Noad.
On Sunday, Steinbach is back in La Broquerie as they host the Terriers.
The 18U squad also featured a couple of Terriers suiting up along side Pistons forward Mathis Laplante and Brody Green as well as defenders Reece Gault and Luke Bogart.
While the game was originally slated for the afternoon, it’s now set for puck drop on Sunday at 7:00 PM at the HyLife Centre.
