Pistons Announce One For One Trade With Blizzard

The Steinbach Pistons have sealed the deal on another offseason trade.

The Pistons have acquired Winnipeg born forward Owen Weihs (’03) from the OCN Blizzard in exchange for forward David Queree (’00).

Queree spent the last two seasons in a Pistons jersey and Head Coach/GM Paul Dyck says he was a great guy to have in the room.

“I truly enjoyed working with David the past 2 seasons and watching him grow as a player and person and he will he missed,” shares Dyck. “He was a tremendous team guy and came to work every work day. We wish him all the best as he moves on to a new opportunity.”

Weihs had 25 goals and 34 assists for a total of 59 points in 50 games with the RHA Nationals last season. Dyck says the coaching staff is excited about the newest addition to the roster.

“Owen is a player that our staff has always liked. We believe he will be a great fit in our program and with our culture. He is a young player with a bright future and we are excited to be able to play apart in his development path.”

The Pistons would, again, like to thank David for his countless contributions to the team and the community and wish him all the best in his career.

At this time we would like to welcome Owen and his family to the Pistons organization.
