Schoonbaert & Purtill Receive MJHL Recognition

The Steinbach Pistons are proud to congratulate both 19 year-old forward Braden Purtill and 19 year-old forward Bradley Schoonbaert on their MJHL recognition this week. 

Purtill was the playoff hero in Game 5 of the semi-final series versus the Portage Terriers, helping him get named this week’s Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week.

He scored the game-winning goal in the Pistons’ 3-2 win Sunday The Terriers are up 3-2 and host Game 6 in Portage on Tuesday (April 4).

Purtill, who hails from Winnipeg, was selected the first star in Sunday’s win. Last week the forward recorded three points (2-1) in three games.

Sitting second among all playoff scorers, Steinbach Pistons’ Bradley Schoonbaert has been named the RBC Player of the Month for March.

Schoonbaert, has posted 15 points (6 goals-9 assists) in 14 games. He’s had four, multiple-point games, in addition being named a first star in three playoff games.

Pistons forward Will Koop was also mentioned as a runner-up for League’s Rookie of the Month.
