The Steinbach Pistons wrapped up their 2nd annual Skills Competition presented by Coffee Culture Café & Eatery last night with a lot of laughs and smiles all around.
Team Jordan Bochinski/Julien Koga squeezed out a 20-19 victory over Team Tyler Anderson/Ryan Carlson in a well contested battle throughout the six planned events. Points were only handed out during the Pistons events.
Out of all the teams that submitted their pictures through Twitter, Facebook and email, Steinbach and Niverville novice teams won the chance to participate in the event, competing in the same contests alongside the Pistons.
Many of the kids were wide eyed, enjoying every minute of the event. Afterwards Niverville Clippers team representative Jason Hudson tweeted, “Thanks again to the Steinbach Pistons for a great night! The Clippers loved it and the Pistons players were top shelf with our team – Great Experience!”
Amongst all the smiles and laughts there was a competition brewing in the background. A lot of trash talk was laid down in the captains’ draft prior to the event. And now it was time to back up the talk. Here is a quick recap on how the points were awarded.
