Steinbach Pistons forward Drew Worrad has been named the MJHL’s Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week.
Worrad had a total of 7 points in 3 games played this past week for the Pistons, helping the team to 3 wins. On the season he has a 2.14 PPG average, which is tops amongst all MJHL skaters.
“It caught me by surprise,” Worrad said. “But I’m definitely very honoured (to receive the award).”
The Pistons center recently missed 9 games due to injury, but came back and was quickly slotted onto the top line between Bradley Schoonbaert and Will Koop by Head Coach Paul Dyck. He was quick to give most of the credit to them. “None of my success comes without great play from my line-mates and the defencemen I’m on the ice with,” he said. “I’ve been blessed to have the chemistry with them lately.”
The Pistons are in action next when they visit the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday.
