It was another gorgeous summer day outside in southeast Manitoba, which made for a perfect day to play golf. And that’s what 195 golfers and 12 celebrities did on Wednesday at the 10th annual Steinbach Pistons Celebrity Golf Tournament at Quarry Oaks Golf Course.
For the first time ever because of health restrictions in Manitoba during the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament featured a tee-time format instead of the usual shotgun start. This still made for a great atmosphere throughout Quarry Oaks, and was a fun-filled day with lots of laughs and lots of fantastic food around the course. Events included an interactive live auction throughout the venue on some incredible prizes, and the Dynamic Chiropractic Putting Contest.
Some celebrities that attended included New York Rangers forward Brett Howden, Winnipeg Jets play-by-play announcer Paul Edmonds, top amateur golfer Colwyn Abgrall, former NHL goalie and Olympic medalist Trevor Kidd, and Pistons players Codey Behun and Matt Osadick.
Congratulations to the group of Joel Hartung, Jayden Plett, Jeff Penner, Vince Loeppky, along with celebrity and now back-to-back champion Bailey Funk, on Team LumberZone winning the tournament with a score of -21.
