Pistons Acquire Briem from Wayway

The Steinbach Pistons have acquired 20 year-old forward Robert Briem from the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in exchange for future considerations.

“We are excited to add Robert to our line-up,” said Pistons Head Coach and General Manager Paul Dyck about the Thompson, Manitoba product. “He will add experience, toughness and a scoring touch to our lineup.”

Briem played the last four seasons with the Wolverines accumulating 44 goals and 45 assists for 89 points and 121 penalty minutes in 155 games. The Pistons coaching staff remember him fondly because he had scored a hat-trick against Steinbach last season.

He put together his best offensive season last year when he scored 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points in 54 games.

Briem will be in Pistons camp this weekend and should be in the line-up shortly thereafter. To make room on the roster the Pistons released 17 year-old forward Scott Mickoski.
