Pistons partner with UFS/UDT for Celebrity Golf Tournament

The Steinbach Pistons are excited to tee it up with Unger Foaming Solutions and UDT Interiors Inc., as they will be the title sponsors for this year’s Pistons Celebrity Golf Tournament on Wednesday, August 22nd at Quarry Oaks.

Dave Unger, the President of Unger Foaming Solutions and UDT Interiors, says this was a great opportunity that he couldn’t pass up.

“As president of two local based companies, I understand the importance of the support given by the community,” he said. “As a sports family ourselves, our family has taken a real interest in the Pistons ever since they came to Steinbach in 2009.

“We have had the pleasure in billeting several players over the years, and have really been blessed by that,” Unger continued. “We really appreciate what Paul Dyck and the Pistons organization stands for, and for the young men they are grooming for adulthood.”

Unger says that his businesses value the idea of community support, and that it is important to support the Pistons because of their involvement off the ice. “A high level sports team can’t survive without the support of its community,” he explained.  “The Steinbach Pistons have had hundreds of people/businesses volunteer their time and money, and I believe that is a large part of their continued success.  As they become a part of our community we hope that they will eventually pour back into the community they become a part of.”

The tournament is quickly filling up, so don’t miss your opportunity to come along as a hole sponsor, or the chance to golf with some local and provincial celebrities. Past celebrity participants include former Winnipeg Jets coach Claude Noel, decorated Olympic speed-skater Cindy Klassen, CFL Hall-of-Famer and Bombers legend Doug Brown, Canadian and World Champion Curler Jeff Stoughton, and former NHlers such as Ian White, Trevor Kidd, and Shane Hnidy.

You don’t want to miss your tee time for this one; be a part of a fun-filled day at one of the best golf courses in Manitoba. The tournament gets underway at 8:30 am with registration and a light breakfast courtesy of Tim Hortons.

Shotgun starts is at 10:00 am, lunch is served after 9 holes, and the awards dinner caps off the day at 3:30 pm.
