The Steinbach Pistons have traded defenceman Evan Kaufman (’00) to the Winnipeg Freeze in exchange for Future Considerations.
Kaufman was acquired by the Pistons in a trade in 2018 and has spent the past two seasons with Steinbach. In 85 career games, the Winnipeg born d-man put up 4 goals and 18 points. He also made seven postseason appearances over that span.
The Freeze are the new expansion team entering the MJHL this season, giving the league 12 teams for the first time since the 2002-03 season.
