Pistons Fall 4-1 to the Wolverines

The Steinbach Pistons lost by a score of 4-1 to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Saturday evening.

The Wolverines got to work quick and opened the scoring on the powerplay at the 1:38 mark of the first period. Nolan Grier got it past Dominik Wasik to make it 1-0.

Waywayseecappo made it 2-0 5-minutes later as Cole Carlson scored from Kurt Rookes and Boone Mathison.

Going into the first intermission the Pistons were down 2-0 with the shot totals 10-8 for Steinbach.

The Pistons got on the board just over halfway through the game at the 13:34 mark. Ian Amsbaugh entered the offensive zone and put a shot on net with Travis Hensrud getting the rebound and putting it past Tresor Wotton.

The Pistons were down 2-1 after two periods of play with the shot totals 24-14 for the Pistons.

Waywayseecappo’s powerplay got back to work in the third period, with Aiden Ziprick scoring from Owen Wheatley and Boone Mathison, making it 3-1.

The Wolverines closed out the scoring with another powerplay goal making it 4-1. Nolan Grier got his second goal of the game from Guerin Apperley and Lucas Eagle.
