Pistons Thank Graduating Defenceman Langley Kruggel

The Steinbach Pistons would like to thank and congratulate Langley Kruggel on an amazing junior hockey career!

Before joining the Steinbach Pistons, Langley spent some time in the AJHL. In 2019-2020, Langley played one game with the Calgary Canucks and then in 2020-2021 played 11 games with the Drayton Valley Thunder. In those 11 games with Drayton Valley Langley got one assist. Langley got traded to the Pistons in the offseason before the 2021-2022 season. In his first season with the Pistons, Langley played in 54 games and got 25 points (3 goals and 22 assists). This past season Langley played in 53 games for the Pistons getting 30 points (8 goals and 22 assists). Langley has been a big contributor and part of the Pistons defensive core, as he uses his two-way game to give the Pistons a chance to succeed.

“The past two years I spent in Steinbach are my most favourite throughout my playing career so far, and not only because of the hockey but because of the community I have come to grow fond of” Langley stated when asked about his time in Steinbach. “We had two exceptionally strong seasons and what makes it more special is our team was able to bring the cup back to Steinbach. And as a twenty-year-old it means that much more.” Commenting further on the fans in Steinbach Langley stated, “what makes Steinbach one of the premier junior hockey spots in Canada is the fan base. On game nights at home, you can expect the building to be packed and you even see the familiar faces in the crowd at away games. Over the course of my two seasons playing here I have built lasting relationships off the ice. From the team’s staff to the volunteers, to the fans, my billet family, and even the community members (and the dentist). I want to thank everyone who was a part of my two hear journey here and I’m proud I can always call Steinbach home.”

Langley was a down to earth, genuine guy with great character. He showed up every gameday ready to play and lay everything out on the ice. Langley has definitely left his mark on Steinbach over his two years here and will be missed around the community.

Langley will be missed in Steinbach, but the Pistons organization wish him all the best in the future!
