Pistons Thank Graduating Forward Dawson Milliken

The Steinbach Pistons would like to thank and congratulate Dawson Milliken on an amazing junior hockey career!

Dawson spent the 2020-2021 season in the BCHL with the Powell River Kings. In 19 games, Dawson had 3 points (1 goal and 2 assists). The Pistons acquired Dawson via trade in the offseason and he came to Steinbach for the 2021-2022 season. In his first season in Steinbach, he played in 46 games getting 20 goals and 22 assists for 42 points. Going into the 2022-2023 season Dawson was named the Captain of the Pistons. His leadership on and off the ice was evident all the time and the way he led the team and the guys in the dressing room was something to look up to. This past season Dawson got 32 points (11 goals and 21 assists) in 40 regular season games. Dawson was a major part of the championship run as he was named the MJHL playoff MVP and got 16 points (9 goals and 7 assists) in 18 games. Dawson capped off his junior career by recently committing to play hockey at Mount Royal University in USports in the fall.

“My time in Steinbach couldn’t have been better” Dawson stated looking back on his time in Steinbach. “When I first arrived in Steinbach, I wasn’t too sure how to feel. I shortly realized it doesn’t get much better than this for a Junior A hockey player. TO have a community support you so much is truly special. I am thankful to have been a part of the community of Steinbach.”

Dawson led the team by example on and off the ice. As Captain, he led the team through the highs and lows of the season, ultimately captaining the team to a MJHL championship. Dawson would give everything he had every game, leaving it all on the ice. Dawson played with grit and tenacity, along with high hockey IQ and offensive talent. His work and presence in the community will always be remembered as he has left a positive imprint on Steinbach.

Dawson will be missed in Steinbach, but the Pistons organization wish him all the best in the future!
