Pistons Thank Graduating Forward Landon Roberts

The Steinbach Pistons would like to thank and congratulate Landon Roberts on an amazing junior hockey career!

Landon was originally drafted by the Pistons with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 MJHL draft. Landon would ultimately pick to go the WHL route originally where he played parts of three seasons from 2019-2022 with the Tri-City Americans. In Tri-City, Landon would get 5 points (3 goals and 2 assists) over 63 games. During the 2021-2022 season, Landon would get traded to the Brandon Wheat Kings. In 55 games with the Wheat Kings, Landon got 11 points (7 goals and 4 assists). Landon would make one more stop in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos at the beginning of this season before coming full circle and making the move to Steinbach. Landon had a stellar season with the Pistons, getting 30 points (14 goals and 16 assists) in 38 games with 90 PIMs in the regular season. In the Pistons championship run Landon got 7 points (1 goal and 6 assists) in 18 games. He capped off his junior career by committing to play hockey at Carlton University for the 2023-2024 season. Landon played an integral and important role on the Pistons this season. Known for his physicality and hard hitting mixed with his leadership and strong hockey IQ, Landon made a lasting impression in Steinbach.

“I have a lot of memories from when I was 14-16, looking up to the guys who were in Steinbach at the time and starting to learn what junior hockey was like, but this last year was definitely what I remember most” Roberts stated looking back on his time in Steinbach. “This year we had a very special group of people with our team, from all of the staff to every single player, I’ll never forget the relationships I was lucky enough to build with all of them. It’s obviously even more memorable as winning a championship is something you never forget, and I hope that we all keep in touch and get the chance to get together in the future to reminisce and see one another in person again.” Touching on playing in the TG Smith Centre Landon commented, “Playing in the TG Smith Centre for the last season is another thing that won’t be soon forgotten. I’ve played in a lot of rinks but getting the opportunity to pack that rink almost every single home game was something special. There’s obviously lots I think of when I look back, but overall Steinbach was really an exclamation point on my junior hockey career, and I’m extremely fortunate to have had the chance to be a part of such a memorable year.”

Landon was a natural leader for the Pistons the moment he stepped foot in the locker room. It was evident the skill he had on the ice but also became evident the great person and character he had off the ice. Landon approached each game and practice with professionalism and seriousness, ready to get to work and help the Pistons succeed. Landon’s kind and thoughtful personality will be missed around Steinbach and the Pistons organization as he so evidently showed every day.

Landon will be missed in Steinbach, but the Pistons organization wish him all the best in his future hockey endeavours!
