The Manitoba Junior Hockey League announced this evening that this weekend’s scheduled games between the Steinbach Pistons and the Winkler Flyers have been postponed due to precautionary public health concerns.
“The implementation of breaks have proven essential to provide flexibility to our schedule and to provide a necessary buffer for teams to recover from COVID-19 implications, postponements and/or weather related disruption, “ the league said in a statement. “Each organization is following the MJHL return to play guidelines, Manitoba public health orders while working closely with public health officials for their direction.“
The Pistons will be off in a mandatory rest break in the schedule for the MJHL next week, and no make-up dates have been announced as of yet.
An email will be sent to season ticket holders who had tickets for Saturday night’s originally scheduled game.
