Steinbach to host Rogers Hometown Hockey

Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be coming to Steinbach next March.

Sportsnet announced that Rogers Hometown Hockey will be coming on March 9-10, 2019 as part of their annual cross-Canada tour showcasing hockey across the country.

Hometown Hockey is a two-day festival put on by Rogers and Sportsnet that showcases live entertainment on a pop-up stage, hockey-themed activities for all ages, and features local celebrities and NHL alumni. The festival culminates with an outdoor viewing party of a live NHL game broadcast on a big screen on Sunday night, with MacLean and Slone hosting the Hometown Hockey broadcast from Steinbach.

The featured matchup will see Mark Scheifele and the Winnipeg Jets take on Alex Ovechkin and the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals in D.C. on March 10th. During the broadcast, you will get a chance to see Steinbach’s passion for hockey through amazing profiles and stories throughout the night.

The visit is part of a two-week Manitoba stop for the cross-Canada tour, as Winkler will be the other Manitoba town that the event will visit a week earlier on March 2-3.
