Two Pistons Nominated For CJHL Awards

Steinbach Pistons forward Grady Hoffman and defenseman Noah Szabo have been nominated for Canadian Junior Hockey League Awards.

Hoffman – Rookie of the Year

Hoffman stormed out of the gate in his 18-year-old rookie season in the MJHL with Steinbach. The 2005-born forward led all rookies in scoring with 28 goals and 21 assists in 53 games. His 28 goals were good enough to finish sixth in the league, which included five game-winners.

Hoffman was voted as the Kim Davis Award recipient as the MJHL’s Rookie of the Year and was named to the MJHL’s Rookie All-Star Team for his strong performance this season.

Szabo – Defenseman of the Year

A second-year member of the Steinbach Pistons, Szabo added 14 goals from the back end this season to go along with 30 helpers in 47 games for a league-high 0.94 points-per-game average.

The NCAA D-1 commit to Alaska-Fairbanks did it all for the Pistons and played big minutes in key situations. Szabo was voted as an MJHL First Team All-Star and was named the MJHL’s Top Defenseman.

Congratulations on stellar seasons.
